weekend recap

whew!
Business is booming, I am nearing my 100th sale on my etsy shop!
I am starting an oilcloth lunchbag revolution...I hope my lower back holds up. I am having a lot of trouble keeping up with the demand, just as I get 6 bags in the shop they all sell and I have requests for 3 more. I need more hours in the day and one more day in the week that no one in my family knows about.
I ventured away from lunch bags for a bit today because I don't want to start to resent them...they should all be made with love you know...

Look at these two boys:
cabana kitties
Whenever they find this laundry basket on it's side they race to get inside it. (we call it the kitty cabana) That's Leo inside of it, he usually never gets there first being the chubby one. Gilbert is the one on the top, he's too cool for everything. I'll let you in on what a dork I am...I imagine that if Gilbert could speak, he would sound just like Tim on "Project Runway", so I will often speak for Gilbert in Tim's voice when I think he has something to say.
I've said too much. Must be the oilcloth fumes getting to me.

I love the photos of the things you're making! The Gilbert comment makes me laugh. I can imagine Gilbert "Tim" saying (about your continuous lunch bag projects), "Make it work!" I do understand being careful not to let the love and joy become something you don't want it to be. That's one of the reasons I constantly switch project efforts as I don't want my joy ruined.

We have crazy voices for our cats, too! Hrm... I am now realizing that they are both actually *dog* voices. Weird.

Our older cat sounds like Triumph the Insult Comic Dog (from Conan O'Brien). Not with the insults, but that's the voice we use when speaking for him.

Our younger cat is a total nut and talks like the little dog in the old cartoons with the two dogs -- the one who says, "Hey, Spike! Whatcha doin' Spike? What's goin' on, Spike?" etc, etc. Little punk.

Always nice to know we're not the only ones!

Love the comment about Gilbert! My cat, Brisbane, who I had for almost 20 years was just like that. Very sophisticated male and such. I think if cats wore eyeglasses, Bris would have looked over them like Tim does when he's checking out a design in progress.

Keep up the great work-- love your oilcloth bags (and everything else). If I ever took my lunch anywhere (besides from the kitchen to the dining room table) I would totally have one of your lunch bags too! I totally love my checkbook cover though and get lots of compliments. :)

I just stumbled upon your photo of Gilbert & Leo. I can totally relate to talking to your cats in the voices you imagine them to have. Ever since our cat Ralphie was a kitten we've imagined him to have this tiny, baby voice with a slight lisp. (We heard a German toddler singing a sweet little Christmas carol & for some reason we all looked at each other & said, "Hey! That's Ralphie!")

Who knows where these fancies come from? Perhaps from our cats themselves? ESP?

Thanks for sharing I so enjoyed it & will follow your blog for more inspiration & smiles.
