K

K is a tough one as far as words go, there aren't too many.

I like kale and kiwi. I have an unnatural fear of knocking one of my teeth out. I have been accused of thinking that I know everything (what????). I always use kosher salt. I hate ketchup. I love my neice Katie.

I know quite a few Kims but Calamity Kim is one of my favorites and she has exciting news, go read about it because I have nothing else to report here.

G is for

Gabby
teal is Gabby's favorite color this m onth... it changes every month... it's a planned thing..... red is next month
G is for Gabby
Gabrielle, actually but she prefers Gabby. All of her teachers think she was named incorrectly because she never says a word in school. She is extremely shy. At home is another story. Today's letter is completely dedicated to Gabby and those of you who have or who are a middle child can understand why I would make sure she doesn't have to share G with anything else! The middle child seems to take a constant inventory of who has what and how much and the mother of that child tends to do a balancing act that would frighten any circus performer. Gabby is 12 and is going to turn the craft/art/creative world upsidedown one day, she has such amazing talent. She sews, knits, crochets, embroiders, draws, paints, makes miniatures from clay and is pretty much self-taught and self-inspired..... a natural. Sure, she sees it all around the house but she kind of hangs back and takes it in and will come out with something all her own, she is awesome. She's pretty funny too; every time we walk into a store she makes up a password that we have to say as we walk in the door, it's usually something embarrassing and she usually bails on me last second leaving me saying something like "Go Meat".
I love my girl!

E and F

E is so obviously for
Embroidery!
E is for embroidery of course!
I love to embroider, although doing it on paper is a bit of a challenge. I especially love anything vintage and kitschy.
E is for eggplant- yum, yum, yum, I love eggplant no matter how you cook it.
Microsoft Excel- damn, can I screw up anything in this program.
East coast- where I live. I can't imagine living anywhere else.
Enigma- what my doctor calls me because the medical profession is stumped by most of my weird conditions.
F is for family and friends of course, without them nothing would matter
F is also for
Fabric!
I went off my fabric diet a teeny bit....
This was yesterday's score, nearly 13 yards of fabric for under $20.00! That was hardly going off of my fabric diet.
F is for freckles- I have too many to count, I used to hate them but now I hardly notice them. Julia has them and they are cute
finally pierced!
F is for fidget. I fidget a lot.
F is for Flor, my super-cool blogging pal http://unafloresita.blogspot.com/
F is Fall, my favorite season. I am ready for it. I really love the change in seasons, I am looking forward to more indoor cooking; soups, stews, breads and baking pies!

This is my coworker, Winston. Actually, he belongs to my coworker but he is so much a part of the office, I just love him. He's pretty old but he loves coming to work everyday and never complains about anything. He is a good sport too, notice the garter he is wearing from the wedding party we had the other day. He's a good boy!
Diary:
I've never been any good at keeping a diary. This blog is about the closest thing I've ever had to one.
Drink:
My alcoholic drink of choice is wine, my non-alcoholic favorite is seltzer.
Duh:
I have way too many "Duh!" moments everyday that have nothing to do with the afore mentioned wine ;)

short and sweet today, have a great weekend!

B is for

Bad Ass Bridesmaids
b is for
What fun we had at work today!
One of the guys (The one with the veiled tiara) is flying off to an island for his fabulous wedding tomorrow, so we decided to have a little surprise, pre-wedding luncheon for him. Because he and the bride to be are not going to have any of the tacky, erm.... I mean traditional wedding music and festivities we thought we'd take care of it for him. I can't believe what good sports the other guys were by wearing tiaras, clip on earrings and ugly bouquets. We had a great lunch while listening to too many Lionel Ritchie love songs and doing The Chicken Dance and The Electric Slide. Good times.

After a random drawing......

......performed at my computer this morning, the winners of the somewhat spotted, lovely embroidered market bags are:
Artsy Momma from http://artsymomma.blogspot.com/- wins the meat bag
Sarah from http://alwayswantstobequilting.blogspot.com/- wins the fish bag
I will be in contact with you ladies and I'll mail them right out to you. Actually.... Sarah, I can't find an email for you, you'll have to email me. Hopefully you can work on those spots or perhaps they won't even bother you. I hope you enjoy them!

Did anyone find a zucchini on their front porch today? Well if you did, I might know why:

did you find a zucchini on your porch this morning?

It's been a while since I posted my fun calendar, mostly because it was buried under a pile of "stuff" near the computer and I just unburied it. Today is National Polka Day but I'm not really feeling it. I am, however, looking forward to Moot Point Day next weekend.
Have a great day!

We're a little slow and what the heck are these spots????

I have some catching up to do.

The bumble and I are finally reading the Harry Potter books. It's about time, huh? In my defense, I was busy raising little kids and these books never made it to my to-do list. I can understand what all the craze is about I am completely sucked in! I have a rule as far as books and movies go, If there was a book written I can't see the movie until I've read it.... so we are reading each book and then watching the movie in sequence. Exciting lives we have here, eh?

Now, let's move onto the subject of spots. I was tidying up a bit and putting all my Etsy things in one spot when I discovered these yellow spots on the backs of my embroidered market bags. I know you can't really see them too good in the picture but trust me, they are there!

mystery spots

These spots were not there before when I finished the bags and took pictures, I zoomed way in and checked. The backs of the bags were made from one towel and the fronts were made from another towel that seemed to be identical. It's a mystery and the spots will not come out.

So, would anyone like these bags? C'mon, they are cute and they are on me!

Meat Market Tote 005

Fish Market Bag 001

If you are interested, leave me a post indicating which one you would like and if more than two people reply I will draw names on Thursday morning. If only one you post then you get both! The yellow spots are very faint and you might have better luck removing them that I did but the bags are still very cute and usable, I just can't sell them now.

Heatwaves & Migraines

Two crappy things that should never be paired together.
too hot for anything else
I hate hot and humid summer weather, hate it, hate it, hate it. We live on the second floor above my parents (I can write an entire different blog about this one) which is usually comfortable due to the sea breezes....... NOT during a %^%$%$$% heatwave though. UGH! To make matters worse, the AC at work doesn't quite reach the fiery pit of hell where my desk is so I am a sticky, crabby witch all day there too. As if this weren't enough fun, let's throw in a wicked migraine; the kind that makes you want to vomit if you have to see sunlight........ wait........ the pool is in the sunlight, isn't it? Do you think God is poking fun at me? I am a pre-menepausal woman for crying out loud, this is not funny!
I may put some sunglasses on and sew, we'll see.

I would like to close with one happy/grateful/thankful thing, perhaps it will create some good karma:
  • School uniforms! I have always been a fan but now that I took the big daughter for high school uniforms and am even more grateful. For $250 she is outfitted for the entire year (2 kilts, 4 polos, 1 zippered fleece, sweats, tee shirt, shorts). Take that Abercrombie and Fitch! *snap*

crap, there goes my good karma.... sorry abercrombie and fitch
